On 12 December 2023, the Friends of Tenerife met for their traditional Christmas lunch. The 30th anniversary of the club was celebrated at the same time.
The meeting took place at the Hotel Garoe, a worthy venue for this event.
The menuFor example, salad as a starterFillet as a main courseThe lunch was delicious with good choices and the service by the waiters was impeccable. The wine, and water, flowed freely. They just couldn’t do enough for us.
After the meal, the kitchen team introduced themselves.
Jean then spoke about the 30-year history of the Charity and pointed out the books with photos and events of the last 30 years which have been carefully preserved.

Our President gives an overview of the club’s history over the last 30 years.
Representants from Apanate, the Centre for Autistic Children in La Orotava and Crevo, the Rehabilitation Centre for children with cerebral problems in La Orotava joined us for lunch and Jean Pennington, our President was able to present Apanate with a cheque for €400!
And of course Jean was honoured for her outstanding work as President!
Finally, the raffle started.
There were many happy winners.The raffle raised €370 and the gift basket €145, all to be given to charity.
And at the end of the raffle, Chris won the gift basket.
